Keeping Cool in the Summer Months

The summer has arrived, and with it, the increased hot weather that makes our life just a bit more difficult. Especially if you are a person who has to work outdoors right in the baking sun. That can be a problem. What to do so you do not get overheated outdoors? At the highest point of the summer, the weather can lead to temperatures that are raised to uncomfortable levels.

Insane heat can lead to heat related illnesses could be potentially fatal. One of the obvious methods is to sit inside in an air conditioned house all day, but let us just throw out that entirely easy. There are some individuals who cannot afford constant air conditioning or even choose not to have it. So they will have not choose alternate methods.

One key thing to understand is that unless you absolutely have to, keep out of the sun between the hours of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, when it is at its absolute hottest. You should not do any chores out in the sun, like mowing the lawn or doing gardening. Get as much work you can done early in the morning or in the evening when the sun is done.

Keep hydrated when you can right outside. Keep water an arm's length away and if you feel the slight bit light headed, take a step back and take a drink. Go into a shaded area for a brief time and just cool it down. Unless you are getting paid for work, you should really remain out of the sun as much you can.

The house remains slightly cooler with light curtains, open windows, and no lights on. If you have a ceiling or window fan, that can cool off the house rather quickly. It might not get to air condition levels, but you can get the house cooled off. Only turn on the light when the sun goes completely down. It will also have the duel purpose in saving in the heated process.

Sometimes a nice swim is good but please do kindly remember proper swimming procedures and safety tips. Along with putting sunblock on, as you will burn to a crisp and put your skin to risk otherwise. Alternatively, taking a cold bath or shower.

Wear light and light colored clothing. Black tends to attract heat as far as clothing goes in the summer, as opposed curtains which actually cool down the house.

The summer can have sun and fun, but it really have hot weather. It is best to remain hydrated, remain out of the sun when you have, and wear clothing that will be the most comfortable and cool. Hopefully everyone has a nice summer but stay healthy out there.
