Heart Attack Symptoms and Prevention


One of the most deadly health afflictions that an individual can suffer is a heart attack. Heart attacks can occur at any time and there are times where people do not recognize the symptoms. Commonly speaking, chest pains is considered to be a potential tell tale sign, but this is just scrapping the potential list of symptoms. Early detection of a heart attack is essential and is something that you should really keep an eye out for.

So what are some heart attack symptoms that you can detect? The list is countless but beyond the standard chest pains commonly associated with this affliction, what can be some commonly afflicted symptoms.


What Are Symptoms To a Heart Attack

In the interest of not scaring people by reading this article, it is not one hundred percent assured that these symptoms could be a sign of a heart attack. However, in many cases they can be or they could be the sign of some other health affliction you should be concerned about.

Shortness of breath is one such sign of a heart attack. You try and draw in breath but you cannot do so without great effort. Even though you are not exerting yourself, you can find it rather hard to do so. A consistent shortness of breath could be a sign of a severe medical condition.

Numbness is another sign that you should watch for for heart attacks. Most of the time the numbness will occur in the area of the arm or side but that is not assured one hundred percent of the time.

Dizziness or the feeling that you might pass out is another feeling. Most awake heart attack victims tend to drop to the ground due to the attack causing them to black out. If two people are with the victim when this occurs, one person should administer the necessary first aid while the other would call 9-1-1.

Blurred vision is another potential sign of a heart attack. The blood is not pumping properly which may in fact affect your vision. Spots may be seen by the heart attack victim as their vision is off. This may be accompanied by constant headaches as well.

Heavy bouts of coughing, almost to the point of choking is another sign where a person could be having a heart attack. The blood has not pumped properly, which leads to a reaction. Fatigue and sickness also sets in but the coughing fits, leads to chest pains could be a concern.

Heart attacks are dangerous and heart attack prevention is important. Remember to take all potential symptoms seriously. Do not get paranoid about every little thing but if it persists, then it is a cause of concern. Stay safe, stay alert, your health and heart are important.
